SO-CAL Speed Shop at the Petersen

Experience the SO-CAL Speed Shop satellite retail store housed in the Petersen Automotive Museum Gift Shop. The SO-CAL store features a selection from our vast line of clothing as well as memorabilia including tin signs, glasses, banners, patches and posters.

Bill Lindig's '32 RPU
Longtime SO-CAL friend Bill "Nitro Billy" Lindig commissioned the car shop to put the finishing touches on his extremely rare and all-original '32 Ford Roadster Pickup. The Houston based Bruce's Rod Shop "roller" with sheet metal work by Bobby Walden was handed over to the SO-CAL crew. The final touches include not only a Mick Jenkins paint job but a Gabe's interior as well.

Bob Garibay's '32 Roadster
Shown here is Bob Garibay's 1932 Ford roadster. It features a blown injected all aluminum small block, Limefire style headers and the "Big and Little" tire combo says nothing but 60's badass hot rod. The car is in the final build stages and is ready for a little TLC in the SO-CAL paint shop.

BFG's 1958 Thunderbird
ZZ Top front man Billy F. Gibbons' latest SO-CAL project is a '58 T-Bird known simply as "Mexican Black Bird." This low and mean beauty is ready to hit the streets after a quick trip to Gabe's for a black and gold custom interior. Paint by Mick Jenkins combined with Watson style panel layout by long time friend Dennis Ricklefs really hit the mark.

Indy Speedster
Anyone who’s been around hot rodding for the past 15 years has most likely seen or heard about Jackie Howerton’s aluminum bodied track roadster. Better known as the “Indy Speedster” it is considered by most to be one of, if not THE, finest hot rods ever built. Long time friend and SO-CAL customer Bill Lindig, purchased the project and commissioned our car shop to finish the car for its debut at the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show.

Emerson Glazer's '33 Sedan
As you can see from the photos, the 2 1/2" chop on Emerson Glazer's sedan was executed perfectly by our pals the Kennedy Bros. The car is now painted black and is currently in the assembly stage.

John Devine's 1955 F100
When we first met John Devine he was looking to build a mild pick up truck but instead his '66 Chevelle "Supercar" was put on the front burner. Once the Chevelle was finished he brought his '55 Ford F100 back out for the SO-CAL crew to do their magic. This local hauler is powered by a big block Ford and painted by SO-CAL's own Mick Jenkins in a subtle "Sea Foam" green offset with a black top.

SO-CAL Speed Shop: Tom Lieb 1929 Roadster

Tom Lieb's 1929 Hiboy roadster
Owner Tom Lieb and SO-CAL fabricator Jimmy Shine put their wild imaginations together to come up with one cool '29 roadster. With all hand made pieces this hiboy is definitely one for the ages. The car was featured in Street Rodder Magazine. If you missed the issue, call the magazine's back issue dept for a copy. You will want to see all the details of this amazing build.
